2. Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on the feature you use, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, and messages submitted for support or feedback.
- Newsletter or marketing preferences and evidence of consent.
- Answers submitted to quizzes, style finders, surveys, or interactive tools.
- Project preferences, room dimensions, estimated budgets, and other tool inputs.

Information collected automatically
Our hosting, security, analytics, consent, and advertising providers may process IP address, approximate location, browser, device, operating system, language, referring page, requested page, timestamps, session events, diagnostic data, cookie identifiers, advertising identifiers, and consent preferences.
QR generator information
QR payloads and optional logos are processed locally in your browser. HighEndDIY does not intentionally receive the URLs, text, Wi-Fi credentials, contact records, colors, uploaded logos, or other data used to generate the QR code. Do not enable extensions or third-party tools that capture generator inputs.
Download email
When an email is required to unlock a download, the address, displayed consent response, and basic request metadata are sent to a third-party form-processing provider. The QR payload, QR image, and optional logo are not included in that submission. You may unsubscribe through a marketing email or request deletion using the contact information below.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Website and its tools.
- Process requested downloads and respond to messages.
- Deliver communications requested or consented to by you.
- Measure readership, Website performance, and advertising effectiveness.
- Display contextual or personalized advertising where permitted.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, invalid advertising activity, and security incidents.
- Enforce our terms, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, processing may rely on consent, performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Website, compliance with a legal obligation, or the establishment and defense of legal claims. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Google AdSense and advertising
HighEndDIY is monetized through Google AdSense when advertising is enabled. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure advertisements and to detect invalid traffic. Learn more through Google’s explanation of how it uses information from partner sites.
Where consent is legally required, nonessential analytics and advertising storage must remain inactive until a valid choice has been recorded.
6. How information is disclosed
We may disclose relevant information to:
- Hosting, content-delivery, infrastructure, and security providers.
- Google AdSense and approved advertising or measurement partners.
- Analytics providers, if separately enabled.
- Email, form-processing, and customer-support providers.
- Professional advisers, courts, regulators, or law enforcement when legally appropriate.
- A successor involved in a merger, restructuring, financing, or transfer of assets.
HighEndDIY does not sell personal information for money. Personalized advertising may, however, constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws.
7. International transfers
HighEndDIY is based in the United States. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers will rely on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another recognized safeguard.
8. Data retention
- Security and server logs are generally retained for 30 to 90 days.
- Contact and support correspondence is generally retained for up to 24 months after resolution.
- Marketing information is retained until you unsubscribe, subject to a minimal suppression record.
- Consent and compliance records are retained as necessary to document lawful choices.
- Legal records may be retained for the period required to meet an obligation or defend a claim.
- Advertising information controlled by Google follows Google’s own retention policies.
A record may be kept longer when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, litigation, or legal compliance.
9. Your privacy rights
European and UK rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent, object to direct marketing, and complain to an appropriate supervisory authority. HighEndDIY does not intend to make legally significant decisions about individuals solely through automated processing.
California rights
Where the CCPA/CPRA applies, California residents may request to know, access, correct, or delete covered information; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive information; and exercise these rights without unlawful discrimination. Recognized Global Privacy Control signals will be handled as required by law.

10. Children’s privacy
The Website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. HighEndDIY does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If we learn that such information was collected without legally sufficient parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No website, provider, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. See our Security Policy.
